Children and families in Gaza are set to receive humanitarian support through a new charitable initiative launched by American singer Ariana Grande.
Grande’s newly established Brighter Days Ahead Foundation has awarded a grant to Save the Children UK, the aid organization announced. The funding will support relief efforts for children and families affected by the ongoing crisis in Gaza.
The charity thanked Grande for the contribution, though the value of the grant was not disclosed.
“The money will go directly to children and families in Gaza, to help them through the unimaginably difficult situation they’ve been put in,” Save the Children UK said in a statement.
The organization said donations such as Grande’s have helped expand its humanitarian response in the territory. According to the charity, its programs have provided cash assistance to 183,459 children, health and nutrition support to 83,000 children, and education services to 11,357 children.
The launch of the Brighter Days Ahead Foundation marks Grande’s latest philanthropic effort. The singer has previously backed initiatives focused on mental health and other social causes.
The foundation is expected to provide grants to organizations working in areas including humanitarian relief, inequality and access to essential services.
