Saudi Arabia Reaches 25 International Awards at ISEF 2025 with Two New Honors

Saudi students Misk Al-Mutairi and Raghad Al-Sheikh have earned two special awards from the American Chemical Society at the International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF 2025), raising Saudi Arabia’s total accolades at this year’s event to 25.

Held in Columbus, Ohio, in May, ISEF 2025 featured over 1,700 students from 70 countries. With these latest honors, the Kingdom’s award count rose from 23 to 25, comprising 14 grand awards and 11 special awards — a testament to the continued excellence of Saudi youth in global scientific arenas.

The American Chemical Society, a globally renowned authority in chemistry, grants special prizes at ISEF to recognize and encourage exceptional student research in chemistry and related fields.

Since its debut at ISEF in 2007, Saudi Arabia—represented by the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba) in collaboration with the Ministry of Education—has secured 185 international awards, including 124 grand and 61 special awards.

Finally, these achievements highlight the Kingdom’s strategic investment in talent development and its growing global presence in science, engineering, and innovation.
