The Pakistani community in Jeddah hosted its annual iftar gathering this week, further strengthening community ties and celebrating Ramadan’s spiritual vibes, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
The iftar brough together residents and representatives from the Pakistani Consulate who celebrated the spiritual essence of the holy month.
The table featured a wide range of traditional Pakistani dishes, such as pakoras, samosas, haleem, as well as dahi Bhalla. As for sweets, the iftar boasted several traditional dishes reflecting Pakistani hospitality.
The event portrayed a distinctive cultural scene adorned by traditional Pakistani attire. Men wore the shalwar kameez, a customary outfit for religious and social occasions, while women donned vibrant, intricately embroidered garments.

Muhammad Irfan, press counselor at the Pakistani Consulate, noted the significance of such gatherings in fostering unity and enhancing the bond among community members. “As you see, Pakistan has a huge community in Jeddah and the western region. Saudi Arabia is a second home for all of us,” he told the Saudi Press Agency.
Irfan also mentioned that celebrating Ramadan in the Kingdom offers them an added spiritual experience. “It just feels like home. So, we don’t feel much of a difference, rather it brings a more elevated spiritual experience, especially being close to the Haram,” he added.
“It’s an incredible experience, and whenever I return to Pakistan, I always say that nowhere in the world is Ramadan like it is in Saudi Arabia,” Tahir Ayoub, the coordinator of the Pakistani community gatherings.
