Today, cities, neighborhoods, streets, mosques, and universities across Pakistan are adorned with the names of the Saudi kings.

The tree is called “Sabiom Cebiferum” in the International Friendship Park in Islamabad, or as it is known locally, “Shakar Paryan Park.” The park is dedicated to commemorative trees for prominent global figures who visit Pakistan.

Pakistanis hold the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in great love and respect; and although King Faisal planted this tree in a garden visited by high-profile guests of the country and where they also plant trees, the Saudi tree holds a special status among Pakistanis, who consider it a profound symbol of their relations with the Kingdom.
