The eighth edition of the Alatawelah Heritage Festival was officially inaugurated yesterday by Abdulmoneim bin Yaseen Al-Shehri, Undersecretary of the Al-Baha Principality. The launch also marked the beginning of a Heritage Commission initiative aimed at revitalizing key elements of the Alatawelah heritage village. The event drew a crowd of officials, visitors, and heritage enthusiasts. During his visit, Al-Shehri toured the festival’s various pavilions and exhibits.

The festival offers a rich lineup of heritage-themed activities, including booths run by local families engaged in cottage industries. These feature displays of traditional clothing and cuisine, as well as live demonstrations of historic stone construction, farming, and harvesting techniques. A dedicated visual arts section is also part of the event.

Visitors can explore a village museum housing an extensive collection of historical artifacts. Meanwhile, the main stage comes alive with poetry nights, competitions, and traditional folk performances, offering an immersive cultural experience.
