Riyadh Air, Saudi Arabia’s new national carrier, on Thursday inaugurated daily flights between Riyadh and Dubai, with services operated by its Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
The inaugural flight, RX243, took off from Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport at 14:05 local time and arrived at Dubai International Airport at 17:00. Meanwhile, the return flight, RX244, was scheduled to depart Dubai at 18:30 and arrive in Riyadh at 19:20.
The launch of services to Dubai marks Riyadh Air’s third destination as the carrier boosts its ambitious objectives to connect Saudi Arabia with regional and global cities.
Riyadh Air seeks to reshape the travel experience through premium cabin offerings, cutting-edge inflight entertainment, advanced passenger comfort, as well as an outstanding service model rooted in Saudi hospitality.
By diversifying travel options for business and leisure passengers alike, the route aims to enhance economic and tourism ties between Saudi Arabia and the UAE amid increasing demand for air travel between the two Gulf hubs.
As part of its expansion plans, Riyadh Air has also supported its fleet in June with four Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft and has advanced its plans to operate flights to 100 destinations worldwide by 2030.
