Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Entertainment Authority (GEA), Advisor Turki Alalshikh, affirmed that the idea of launching the Arabian Music Conference arose from the artistic community’s need for a specialized platform in the Arab world. He described the conference as an essential forum for examining and understanding diverse musical styles.
Alalshikh highlighted the importance of coordination and collaboration among all entities involved in musical production to ensure the proper documentation and preservation of Eastern vocal maqams following a unified scientific methodology.

The conference aims to merge Arab musical identity with academic frameworks, working toward the development of a comprehensive Arabic reference for maqams and rhythms, as well as the documentation of musical arts. This initiative aspires to reinforce the presence of Arabic music within a structured, scholarly context.
