UAE Celebrates Emirati Children’s Day 2023

Under the slogan “the right to a safe and sustainable environment”, The UAE is celebrating Emirati Children’s Day 2023; a national occasion falls on 15th of March every year.

This day aims at ensuring the country’s commitment to promote Emirati children gains and guarantee their rights in all aspects of life to enjoy a decent life and better future.

In 2023, the event intends to enhance all climate action system by preserving natural resources and reducing the impacts of climate change that will negatively affect children’s future.

It’s better known that factors currently affecting the climate like the extinction of a huge number of living species and the rise in sea, oceans levels, will directly and indirectly affect children’s bodies, minds for now and later.

Building children’s skills and capacities to eliminate the phenomenon of child labor, deprivation of education, protect them from social discrimination, poverty and destitution are among the goals set by the country for safe and sustainable environment.

In addition, the authorities are putting more effort to eliminate all diseases that endanger children lives including; communicable and non-communicable diseases.

All children in sustainable societies get equal rights and privileges regardless of religion, race or color, so that they can enjoy balanced and independent personalities.

The special day coincides with the launching of the Federal Law No. 3 of 2016 Concerning Child Rights, also known as Wadeema’s Law, on 15 March 2016.
