Madinah has topped all Saudi cities in occupancy rates for tourist hospitality facilities with 74.7% during the first half of 2025, according to Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Tourism.
The number of licensed hospitality facilities in the city has risen to 538, with 69 new establishments recently added, noting the sector’s ongoing expansion, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
Furthermore, the total hotel room capacity has increased to 64,569, supported by 6,628 additional rooms introduced during the same period.
This noticeable expansion reflects Madinah‘s position as an advanced destination for hospitality and religious tourism.
The ministry is currently carrying out major development projects to increase capacity, elevate the quality of services, and improve the visitor experience, in line with the Saudi Vision 2030.
Through its Madinah Visions project, the largest hospitality project in the world, the city aims to further strengthen its position as a captivating destination that hosts millions of visitors annually and offers them an integrated hospitality environment.
