Moltkiopsis ciliata, locally referred to as “Alhalam,” is a wild plant commonly found in the Qassim region, particularly thriving in sandy dune environments. It is characterized by its coarse texture and coloration that ranges from dusty gray to reddish hues, along with its rough, red fruits. Due to its harsh texture, the plant can sometimes cause discomfort to camels when they graze on it.

The presence of this plant highlights the rich vegetation diversity of the region and underscores the importance of protecting desert ecosystems. These environments are home to a variety of unique wild plants, all of which play a vital role in maintaining ecological balance and promoting sustainability.
