Teucrium oliverianum Flourishes Throughout Rafha Governorate

Teucrium oliverianum is once again flourishing throughout the deserts of Rafha Governorate in the Northern Borders Region, marking a notable revival of native plant life. This evergreen species, part of the mint family (Lamiaceae), can grow up to 70 centimeters tall and is easily recognized by its striking blue-violet blooms, which now add vivid color to the desert scenery.

Its return is a strong sign of healthier soil conditions and a more stable ecosystem. As it regenerates naturally, Teucrium oliverianum plays an important role in combating environmental decline and desertification, highlighting the ongoing recovery of the region’s ecological balance and natural landscape.

The perennial herbaceous plant Teucrium oliverianum has spread extensively throughout the Saudi Arabia's Imam Turki bin Abdullah Royal Reserve, indicating a balanced ecosystem, the Saudi Press Agency has reported recently. https://arab.news/g8fwf
