The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) has added three new shipping services, operated by global maritime pioneer Maersk, at Jeddah Islamic Port and King Abdullah Port, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
By adding these new services, the authority reflects its commitment to reinforcing the Kingdom’s position as a pivotal maritime trade hub, further enhancing its strategic connectivity and boosting its competitiveness across regional and global markets.
With a handling capacity of up to 14,400 TEUs, the services will operate a route encompassing Nhava Sheva Port and Mundra Port in India, as well as Port of Salalah and King Abdullah Port, before completing the circuit back to Jeddah.
This initiative represents an integral part of Mawani’s broader efforts to foster the Kingdom’s standing in global performance indices, streamline the flow of national exports, and achieve the objectives of the National Strategy for Transport and Logistics.
