Farasan Maritime Museum Celebrates 20 Years of Preserving Red Sea Heritage

Its extensive collection, built over decades, offers an immersive, documentary-like experience that combines marine science with cultural history. Visitors can explore thousands of artifacts, preserved marine specimens, and artistic creations made from shells and coral.

In addition to its scientific exhibits, the museum celebrates Farasan’s rich maritime past and aligns with the region’s well-known cultural events, including the annual Hareed Festival. By documenting traditional fishing methods and natural marine phenomena, it also helps preserve the islands’ cultural identity while promoting awareness of marine conservation.

As a major hub for eco and cultural tourism, the museum enhances the Farasan Islands’ standing as a unique destination. Finally, it serves as a space where science and art come together, safeguarding the Red Sea’s natural beauty and cultural legacy for generations to come.
