The report shows that Saudi travelers are increasingly interested in destinations that offer cultural, social and communal experiences rather than relaxation or sightseeing, with around third of people aged between 25-34 years old travelling to attend sporting events across the world.
Moreover, the Skyscanner report cites many travel trends that will shape the travel scene in Saudi Arabia in 2025 and beyond. The first trend is Gami-Vacation, where Saudi game enthusiasts will travel to attend global gaming conventions.
The second trend is the Reset Jetters. It refers to luxury and wellness tourism, where travelers seek recreation and rejuvenation at high-end retreats.
Meanwhile, the third trend, Astro-Ventures, is related to astrology and stargazing. Astro-Ventures travelers search for an immersive journey that deepens their connection to the cosmos.
Furthermore, the Travel Trends 2025 report offers insights into the preferred destinations for Saudi travelers in the coming year, based on the largest search increases. Saudi travelers favor destinations in Europe, North America and Asia.
The first destination is Rize, Türkiye, which saw a 529% increase in searches. The second favorite destination for Saudis is Gan, Maldives, with a 400% increase in searches.
Meanwhile, the third destination is Krakow, Poland, seeing a 365% surge in searches. The fourth place goes to Montreal, Canada, which saw a 310% increase in searches, while Rome, Italy, comes in the fifth place, with 240% increase in searches.
