The Red Sea Film Foundation unveiled on Saturday the programming team for the fifth edition of its Red Sea International Film Festival, according to Arab News.
The team will be led by Antoine Khalife, director of the Arab and Classic Cinema Program, with critic Ahmed Al-Ayyad and Josephine Habashi serving as senior programmers.
Meanwhile, Mohie Qari will remain in his role as director of the Saudi Program.
Fionnuala Halligan has been appointed director of International Programs as part of the festival’s international expansion.
Halligan will work with a global team of advisers, including British producer Mike Goodridge for the international program and Toronto International Film Festival curator Giovanna Fulvi for Asian programming.
The team will also involve former MAMI Mumbai Film Festival artistic director Deepti de Cunha for South Asian cinema and African cinema expert Alex Moussa Sawadogo for African projects.
Shivani Pandya Malhotra, Executive Director of the RSFF, described the programming team as the backbone of the festival, emphasizing the diversity and expertise its members bring to the event.
Malhotra added that their collective vision would play a key role in delivering an “inspiring artistic program” for the upcoming edition of the festival.
