Saudi Red Sea, Grants Red Sea Global Operating Licenses for AMAALA, Shura Island Marinas

The Saudi Red Sea Authority granted Red Sea Global operating licenses for the AMAALA and Shura Island marinas, strengthening their readiness to receive yachts and supporting the integration of marine services at the company’s destinations along Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea coast.

The licenses were handed over in Riyadh by Mohammed Bukhari, Deputy CEO of Coastal Tourism Operations at the authority, to Raed Al-Basit, Chief Operating and Sustainability Officer at Red Sea Global.

The licenses were issued in accordance with the regulations governing the design and operation of tourist marinas. The regulations oversee marina operators and design activities and set health, safety, and environmental-protection requirements to support high-quality services for yacht owners and visitors to coastal destinations.

Through its regulatory framework, the authority is creating a clear environment for operators and investors, strengthening confidence in the sector and linking the growth of coastal tourism with service quality and marine-environment protection.

Red Sea Global previously launched its “Yacht Network,” bringing the management and operation of its marinas and yacht clubs along the Red Sea coast under one administration. The network aims to provide an integrated experience for yacht owners, captains, and crews while facilitating access to berthing and marine services across destinations.

The network includes the AMAALA Marina, part of the AMAALA Yacht Club, which offers 119 berths, and Shura Island Marina, the Kingdom’s largest tourist marina built on an island, with 159 berths. Together, the two marinas provide a total capacity of 278 berths and can accommodate yachts up to 120 meters long.

AMAALA Yacht Club

The AMAALA Yacht Club occupies approximately 7,900 square meters and offers facilities and services for yacht owners and visitors. These complement the marina by creating an integrated experience combining sailing, hospitality, and marine services, further enhancing the destination’s appeal to yacht tourists.

The move reflects the complementary roles of the authority, which is responsible for developing and regulating the coastal tourism sector, and Red Sea Global, which is developing tourism destinations, facilities, and services.

The authority establishes regulatory frameworks, policies, controls, and standards; issues licenses and permits; encourages investment; and defines infrastructure requirements. These efforts support the sector’s growth, strengthen the Red Sea’s competitiveness as a global tourism destination, and contribute to the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
