Cultural Houses Celebrate Saudi Founding Day Across 8 Cities

The Cultural Houses will kick off a diverse range of activities across eight cities to mark the Saudi Founding Day on February 22, 2026, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

Throughout its locations in Riyadh, Dammam, Buraidah, Ahad Rafidah, Jizan, Najran, Hail and Sakaka, the Cultural Houses will host a variety of programs and activities designed to strengthen Saudi values and national legacy within a contemporary creative framework.

The celebrations will take place across three tracks. The Founding Theater brings history to life through poetry, discussions, and cultural showcases that celebrate the Kingdom’s heritage and the core principles of its establishment.

In parallel, the Founding Experiences track offers immersive, interactive activities that bring the traditions and customs of the founding era to life for visitors.

Meanwhile, the Founding Memory track focuses on creative writing and reading workshops to document Saudi history. Together, these programs aim to preserve the Kingdom’s cultural symbols and strengthen their presence in the public’s mind.

On this occasion, the Libraries Commission CEO, Abdel-Rahman Al-Assem, underscored the Cultural Houses significance as effective national platforms that advance the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 of building a vibrant society with a strong sense of national identity.

Saudi Arabia’s Founding Day marks the anniversary of the establishment of the First Saudi State on the hands of Imam Muhammad bin Saud more than three centuries ago.

In 1727, Imam Muhammad bin Saud took Diriyah as the capital of the state, with the Holy Quran and Prophet Mohammed’s Sunnah as its constitution. He succeeded in unifying large parts of the Arabian Peninsula under his rule, bringing stability to the region.
