
A hiking event organized under the supervision of the Ministry of Sport branch in the Al-Baha Region concluded today, drawing more than 100 participants and reflecting growing community interest in outdoor sports.
The three-day program featured workshops and awareness lectures covering the basics of hiking, safety guidelines and the importance of preparing properly for mountain trails. The event concluded with a five-kilometer mountain trek that saw strong participation from hiking enthusiasts and outdoor recreation lovers.
Director of the Ministry of Sport branch in Al-Baha, Bandasaid the event is part of the ministry’s broader efforts to expand community participation in sports, encourage regular physical activity and promote healthy lifestyles, in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
The event also highlighted the role of hiking as one of the activities that combines fitness, recreation and social engagement. Organizers said the strong turnout reflects increasing awareness of the value of sports events that take place in natural settings and help foster a more active community.

Through initiatives of this kind, the Ministry of Sport aims to strengthen participation across different age groups and create more opportunities for residents to engage in safe and beneficial physical activities. The Al-Baha event also contributed to promoting the region’s natural landscape as a suitable environment for recreational sports and community events.
