King Salman Reserve Authority Earns IUCN Certificate for Technological Innovation

The King Salman bin Abdulaziz Royal Reserve has secured the Technological Innovation Certificate from the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), according to the Saudi Press Agency.

This achievement marks a remarkable milestone as the reserve emerges as the first nature reserve in the Middle East and West Asia to receive this recognition.

The reserve earned this recognition through a strategic partnership with stc, in collaboration with Huawei’s Tech4Nature initiative, which presented an AI-powered smart monitoring system supported by advanced communications technologies.

This innovative system provides precise, real-time wildlife observation through a network of smart cameras.

Hence, this system features continuous observations, analyzes data instantly, and tracks biodiversity around the clock.

It also offers the immediate identification of wildlife and the continuous tracking of their movements in their natural habitats, supporting environmental research and delivering precise, data-driven insights into wildlife populations.
