The third Sakaka Dates Festival concluded after four days at the Prince Abdulillah Cultural Center, organized by the branch of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture in Al-Jouf region, with the honoring of participating entities and the crowning of winners.
The festival saw broad participation from 40 farmers and 22 producing families, alongside numerous government and private entities and agricultural associations, drawing significant public turnout from within and outside the region.
At the closing ceremony, Dr. Aqab bin Mukhailif Al-Ruwaili, general supervisor of the third Sakaka Dates Festival, honored the winners of the Largest Bunch Award, which featured competition among five contestants. Farmer Munif Al-Sarhani took first place with a bunch weighing more than 65 kilograms, Abdulmalik Al-Sarhani came second at 63 kilograms, and Owaydah Al-Fuhaiqi placed third at 42 kilograms.
Honors also recognized participating government and private entities, producing families and media personnel in appreciation of their active efforts and prominent contributions to the success of the festival’s third edition.
The festival featured a diverse lineup of entertainment and awareness programs, as well as agricultural activities for children, supporting farmers and showcasing Al-Jouf’s distinguished date production to boost economic and tourism activity in the region.
