Taif University has further strengthened its presence in international academic rankings after 12 disciplines were included in the 2026 ShanghaiRanking’s Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS). The ranking covers life sciences, medical sciences, natural sciences, and engineering.
The university achieved notable positions in several disciplines. Veterinary Sciences ranked in the 101–150 range globally, while Agricultural Sciences and Mathematics were placed in the 151–200 range. Several engineering disciplines were also included in advanced global ranking bands.
The ranked disciplines also included Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences; Energy Science and Engineering; Instrument Science and Engineering; Food Science and Technology. It also included Materials Science and Engineering; Electrical and Electronic Engineering; Metallurgical Engineering; Environmental Science and Engineering; and Chemical Engineering.
The ranking is based on indicators measuring the quality and impact of research in each discipline. This takes into consideration research output, citations, and the international presence of researchers. These results reflect the university’s improving research performance and strengthen its competitiveness in global academic rankings.
