Zain KSA Launches Kingdom’s First Commercial Advanced 5G Service for Individuals

Saudi mobile telecom operator Zain KSA has announced the commercial launch of Advanced 5G technology for individual customers, becoming the first company in the Kingdom to offer the service.

The launch builds on Zain KSA’s earlier leadership in developing digital infrastructure, following its introduction of the Kingdom’s 5G Standalone network.

Advanced 5G is designed to provide customers with a more advanced connectivity experience, combining higher speeds, faster response times, and greater reliability. These improvements are expected to benefit everyday uses such as ultra-high-definition streaming, cloud gaming, video calls, and AI-based applications.

The service also offers more stable performance in densely populated areas, better indoor coverage, and improved battery efficiency for devices that support the technology.

The rollout will begin in Riyadh and Jeddah as part of Zain KSA’s efforts to expand its network and strengthen connectivity. It uses the 600 MHz spectrum band, along with other frequencies, to improve coverage, especially indoors and in areas that require wider signal reach.

Advanced 5G also enhances overall network performance by improving response times, increasing mobility experience, raising upload speed efficiency, and boosting network reliability. It paves the way for the next generation of telecom services, including Voice over New Radio and RedCap technologies, among other innovations that will support future digital services.

Zain KSA CEO Saad bin Abdulrahman Al-Sadhan said the commercial launch of Advanced 5G technology marks a new milestone in the company’s journey to redefine the connectivity experience for its customers by turning the latest global innovations into services available for everyday use.

He added that the achievement reflects the company’s continued investment in advanced digital infrastructure that keeps pace with the Kingdom’s ambitions and helps individuals and businesses benefit from the growing opportunities of the digital economy, in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.

The launch is also an extension of Zain KSA’s strategy to build a future-ready digital network rooted in innovation. It marks another step in the company’s efforts to lead digital transformation in the Kingdom by bringing the latest global innovations to the local market and converting advanced technologies into commercial services available to consumers, in step with the rapid growth of AI applications, the Internet of Things, and the digital economy.
