Jeddah to Host Spanish Super Cup in January 2026

The much-awaited Spanish Super Cup is returning to Jeddah, bringing thrilling competitions between the best Spanish football teams.

The Supercopa de España will take place from January 7-11, 2026, at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Jeddah for the second year in a row, the Royal Spanish Football Federation announced.

The semi-final draw resulted in two major clashes: Barcelona against Athletic Club Bilbao, and Real Madrid versus Atletico Madrid. The two semi-final winners will battle it out on January 11 for the Spanish Super Cup trophy.

Saudi Arabia has been hosting the Spanish Super Cup since 2020 in Jeddah and Riyadh. Real Madrid emerged winner in three editions, in 2020, 2022, and 2024. Meanwhile, Barcelona claimed victory at the third and fifth editions.

Jeddah to Host Spanish Super Cup in January 2026

The last edition, which took place in Jeddah in January 2025, saw Barcelona defeating Bilbao 2-0 in the semi-finals before beating Real Madrid in the final with a stunning 5-2 victory. The final match attracted around 60,000 football fans.

The return of the esteemed tournament to Jeddah aligns with its commitment to establishing its position as a global hub for prestigious sporting events and a premier tourist destination, in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.

Saudi Arabia is preparing to host the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2034, a highly-anticipated mega sports event that will draw millions of football fans to the Kingdom and further solidifies its status a major host for key events.
