From football matches to electric vehicles (EVs) races, the first four months of 2025 will bring a collection of diverse sports events to the coastal city of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Jeddah will host the Spanish Super Cup (Supercopa de España) from January 8-12, 2025 at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium, for the fifth time. The prestigious competition will feature 4 high-ranking clubs which will face off in a knock-out tournament. These teams are Real Madrid, Barcelona, Athletic Bilbao and Real Mallorca.
Barcelona will play against Athletic Bilbao on January 8, while Real Madrid will face Real Mallorca on January 9. On January 12, 2025, the two winning teams will face off in the final match.
Jeddah will also host the Saudi national football team’s matches in the World Cup 2026 qualifiers, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
On January 24-25, 2025, the UIM E1 World Championship will make its debut in Jeddah, as the Jeddah Corniche Circuit will host the inaugural race of the championship’s second season. The competition will feature 18 male and female pilots representing 9 teams owned by famous celebrities.
Moreover, Jeddah is bracing to host the third and fourth rounds of the 11th season of Formula E race (E-Prix) on February 14-15, 2025 at the iconic Jeddah Corniche Circuit. The E-Prix is a single-seater, electronically powered motorsport race. It uses electric racecars rather than internal combustion engines powered by fuel.
From April 18-20, 2025, the Red Sea city will host the Formula 1 stc Saudi Arabian Grand Prix at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit. It is a much-awaited sports event that will be held in Jeddah for the fifth time.
Furthermore, Jeddah will host the electric SUVs’ championship Extreme E, for the fifth consecutive time. It an EV racing event that highlights the environmental impacts of climate change.
