
Football fans have a great chance to catch the Spanish Super Cup in Saudi Arabia, as the highly-anticipated event will return to Jeddah next January.
The Saudi Ministry of Sport announced that Saudi Arabia will host the prestigious competition (Supercopa de España) for the fifth time from January 8-12, 2025, at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

The spectacular event is expected to draw football fans from across the world, with heated competitions bringing together some of the world’s best football teams.
The popular tournament will see the participation of 4 high-ranking clubs: Real Madrid, Barcelona, Athletic Bilbao and Real Mallorca. It will be a knockout tournament.
Real Madrid will face Real Mallorca on January 8, while Barcelona will play against Athletic Bilbao on the following day. The winning teams will face off in the final, scheduled on January 12.
The Spanish Super Cup is a tournament that features the winners of La Liga and Copa del Rey. It usually takes place at the beginning of the new season, and determines the champion of the next year.
Saudi Arabia has been hosting the Spanish Super Cup since 2020 in Jeddah and Riyadh. Real Madrid emerged winner in three editions, in 2020, 2022, and 2024. Meanwhile, Barcelona claimed victory at the third edition.
Barcelona is the winner of the most Spanish Super Cup titles, with 14 titles out of 27 participations. Real Madrid comes in the second place, with 12 titles, followed by Athletic Bilbao and Deportivo La Coruña, with 3 titles for each. Atletico Madrid secured 2 titles.
