FIFA World Cup 2034: Saudi Arabia to Host Grand Tournament

The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, officially announced that Saudi Arabia will host FIFA World Cup 2034, a landmark achievement in the Kingdom’s sports journey.

With this announcement, Saudi Arabia has become the first and only country in the world to host the grand football tournament with the participation of 48 national teams from various continents.

On this occasion, the Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Mohammed bin Salman, expressed his sincere congratulations to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

Furthermore, the Saudi Crown Prince underscored the Kingdom’s commitment to utilizing its huge potentials and capacities to develop football worldwide and spread love, peace and tolerance. He attributed this success to the resolve and impressive capabilities of the Saudi people.

Upon the official announcement, celebrations kicked off across Saudi Arabia’s regions, as people took to streets to showcase their joy and pride with firework displays.

Saudi Arabia has unveiled ambitious plans for organizing FIFA World Cup 2034, promising to deliver “a tournament of a lifetime.”

Under the slogan “Growing Together,” Saudi Arabia’s official bid book revealed 15 state-of-the-art stadiums across 5 host cities: Riyadh, Jeddah, Al-Khobar, Abha and NEOM. It also proposed 10 other locations to hold the FIFA Fan Festival.

The Kingdom’s bid book received the highest evaluation in FIFA’s bidding history, scoring 419.8 out of 500, a testament to the massive transformation in Saudi Arabia’s sports sector.
