The legendary DJ Alesso is set to electrify the opening ceremony of the Esports World Cup 2025 (EWC 2025) with a vibrant performance alongside the Grammy-nominated cellist Tina Guo.
On July 10, 2025, the Swedish Grammy-nominated producer and DJ Alesso will bring high energy to the opening ceremony of the much-awaited Esports event in Boulevard City Riyadh.
On this occasion, the renowned DJ Alesso released an official remix of “Ascension,” featuring cellist Tina Guo. The amazing track fuses Alesso’s progressive house sound with Guo’s captivating tone. The track is part of the EWC Music initiative, designed to create an original music identity for the Esports World Cup and foster a deep bond between Esports and music.
Running from July 7 to August 24, 2025, the EWC 2025 will bring together more than 2,000 professional gamers and 200 clubs from over 100 countries, competing in 25 tournaments across 24 games for a total prize money exceeding $70 million.
The opening ceremony, set on July 10, will feature a star-studded lineup of artists, including Post Malone, a 9x diamond-certified artist and a long-time gamer himself with deep roots in Esports and gaming community.
DJ Alesso is famous for his signature hits and chart-topping collaborations with big names such as Calvin Harris, David Guetta, and OneRepublic. The world-renowned artist expressed enthusiasm over his cooperation with the EWC. “I was so excited when this opportunity came to me. I’m a huge fan of esports and gaming tournaments – I’m a gamer myself, so combining my two worlds into one on this remix felt so natural,” he said.
