Running from February 13-23, 2025, the Berlin International Film Festival, also known as Berlinale, is one of the world’s most prestigious film festivals. It serves as a platform for discovering new talents and fostering cultural dialogue among filmmakers from around the world.

Its participation features a special pavilion that showcases Saudi Arabia’s increasing influence in the global cinema industry, and the Kingdom’s strategy to consolidate its position as a leading destination for filmmaking.

The Saudi Film Commission’s participation involves an official delegation and a group of prominent filmmakers who will take part in meetings with top industry experts and decision-makers. This effort aims to foster cultural exchange in filmmaking, support national talents and develop their skills.

The Commission will also host a roundtable session titled “Will 2025 be the year of independent films at the global box office?” designed to promote dialogue among leading filmmakers. Moreover, the session will discuss future challenges and opportunities, explore global trends and encourage innovation to promote sustainable growth in the film industry.

The participation in the 75th Berlin International Film Festival is part of the Saudi Film Commission’s efforts to establish the Kingdom’s status in the global film industry.

It also paves the way for Saudi filmmakers to reach wider audiences and forge international partnerships, in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to support cultural and creative industries.
