
Ain Heet Cave is a cave formed by natural factors from limestone, attracting tourists from all over the world. It is characterized by its richness in minerals, such as anhydrite—a calcium mineral—and the presence of a clear lake inside the cave.
It is also home to unique species of animals that emerge in the evening hours, making it an ideal place for discovery and adventure enthusiasts. The cave was discovered approximately 130 years ago by chance.
The Ain Heet Cave is located fifty kilometers away from the center of Riyadh, on the Al Kharj road near Al Jubail Mountain in Wadi Al Sulay, in a small village called Heet in Riyadh.
Here are some key facts and information about Ain Heet Cave:
- The cave entrance is twenty meters wide and is shaped like an eye, hence the cave is named Ain (eye) or Ain Heet.
- The cave has a 45-degree incline and is very slippery, so visitors are advised to wear rubber-soled shoes to prevent slipping.
The cave passage narrows gradually as you progress forward, becoming steeper, and the sunlight fades, making the place dark. Therefore, it is not suitable for children. Visitors can move with a little push or jump. The walls of the cave consist of sedimentary rocks.
The cave walls are made of sedimentary rocks. After proceeding to explore the Ain Heet Cave, visitors will reach the inner chamber, where they can view the clear blue waters of an underground lake within the cave, which is 150 meters wide and about 30 meters deep.
