Mountains in Taif have become an iconic symbol that attracts visitors and tourists from all over the world to the region. The mountains’ picturesque landscape charms visitors and provides a source of inspiration for poets who celebrate the beauty of nature embodied in Taif peaks.
Taif mountains surround the city from all sides like a protective wall, drawing a stunning picture with their high peaks and mysterious valleys. The mountains boast rich biodiversity, ranging from fragrant plant groves and dense forests to slopes adorned with lovely flowers, creating a tranquil atmosphere that encourages visitors to enjoy meditation amid Taif’s rich heritage.
With its charming panoramic view and diverse geological landscapes in places such as Wadi Al-Fara, Wadi Al-Sail Al-Muharraq, and Wadi Thi Ghazal, Taif mountains enjoy a moderate climate and a pleasant atmosphere that resembles ships sailing through a sea of fog.
Boasting a height of 2,700 meters above sea level, the Taif mountains’ unique topography, including caves and steep slopes, in addition to giant rocks and cliffs, offers adventure lovers with the opportunity to experience climbing and discover the mysteries of the towering peaks.
In addition to its natural beauty and rich biodiversity, Taif mountains hold great historical significance. Mountains such as Mount Daka, Mount Saq, and Al-Rayyan are adorned with ancient inscriptions that date back to successive civilizations.
Natural history expert, Hassan Al-Asimi, told the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) that many of those inscriptions are found in agricultural areas, including Wadi Ardah and Wadi Al-Hada.
