Jeddah Corniche Attracts “Gulf 27” Visitors, Delivers Integrated Red Sea Experience

Jeddah Corniche and the Rawan Waterfront have drawn large numbers of visitors and fans of the 27th Arabian Gulf Cup football tournament, “Gulf 27,” who have taken the opportunity between matches to enjoy tourism and leisure facilities overlooking the Red Sea and to explore some of Jeddah’s most prominent landmarks.

The Rawan Waterfront saw an influx of visitors from across the Gulf Arab countries, coming to enjoy the seaside promenade stretching along the coast, open seating areas, dedicated walking, jogging and cycling paths, as well as sandy beaches and green spaces that provide a recreational outlet for families and individuals throughout the day.

The Rawan Waterfront is one of Jeddah’s leading tourism and leisure destinations. It extends for more than 4.5 kilometres along the Red Sea coast and includes seven diverse entertainment squares, integrated service facilities, as well as areas designated for children and sites for practising various sports and leisure activities.
It can accommodate more than 120,000 visitors at the same time and features extensive green areas and prepared beaches to welcome its patrons.

The Rawan Waterfront has also set a Guinness World Record for the longest artistic drawing on a promenade in the world, covering an area of 16,000 square metres. The artwork was created by Saudi artists and volunteers as part of a joint initiative between Rawan Group, the “Linbader” programme and the Social Responsibility Association.

Several tournament visitors expressed admiration for the urban landscape reflected by the waterfront and the attractive environment it offers, combining entertainment, sport and nature, along with direct views of the Red Sea and art installations spread along the promenade, making the site a preferred destination for taking commemorative photos and enjoying Jeddah’s seaside atmosphere.

Major sporting events hosted by Jeddah contribute to boosting tourism activity in the city and highlighting its diverse entertainment, cultural and tourism assets. Visitors to “Gulf 27” thus find multiple options that combine attending sporting competitions with enjoying the seaside and heritage destinations for which the “Bride of the Red Sea” is known.
