Red Sea Global (RSG) has announced that AlWajh International Airport is now welcoming flights after the completion of its modernization process.
The airport is receiving three weekly flights from Riyadh and two from Jeddah operated by Saudia, with international flights expected to launch soon.
The revamped airport has the capacity to accommodate most commercial aircraft, including the Airbus A320 and Boeing B737 families, as well as seaplanes, unlocking potential for expanded flight network and new routes.

Furthermore, the upgrade boosts the airport’s annual capacity from 100,000 to 500,000 passengers, with the ability to manage a peak flow of 330 arriving and departing travelers per hour across four gates.
Located just 45 minutes away by electric vehicle, and 20 minutes by seaplane, AlWajh International Airport will serve as a primary gateway to AMAALA – the RSG’s ultra-luxury wellness destination set to welcome its first guests in the coming months.
The airport’s design celebrates AlWajh’s local architecture and heritage. It features two premium lounges, coffee shops, mini-market, automated banking service, car rental services, and parking facilities for elevated guest experience.

Moreover, the upgraded terminal now supports seaplane and helicopter operations, anchoring the bespoke air transportation network designed for AMAALA.
“This project is about far more than an airport terminal. It’s about creating a gateway that connects people, supports economic growth, and opens new opportunities for communities across the region. Today the people of Tabuk have an international-ready airport that increases connectivity to the rest of the Kingdom and beyond,” RSG CEO John Pagano said.
