The Saudi Film Nights tour launched in Johannesburg, South Africa, on Thursday, showcasing the breadth of creative and cinematic talent among Saudi filmmakers.
The Saudi Film Commission said on X that the tour forms part of its efforts to expand the international presence of Saudi cinema and promote cultural exchange through film.
In addition to Johannesburg’s Lesedi Theatre, screenings will be held at other prominent venues, including the Drama Theatre at Durban’s Playhouse complex and Cape Town’s Labia Theatre.
The tour seeks to introduce South African audiences to the diversity of contemporary Saudi filmmaking and to highlight the rapid growth of the Kingdom’s film industry.
The selected venues are popular destinations for fans of international and arthouse cinema, offering Saudi films the opportunity to reach a wide and varied audience across South Africa.
