AlUla Desert Blaze race is making a highly anticipated return to the Kingdom’s ancient oasis city this August, bringing heated challenges that push participants to their limits.
In its fourth edition, taking place on August 15-16, 2026, AlUla Desert Blaze will test the competitors’ endurance under the scorching sun of AlUla’s charming desert.

The race is open for runners of all fitness levels, offering them an unmissable chance to explore the scenic beauty of AlUla, from the natural landscapes to breathtaking landmarks including the first UNESCO World Heritage site Hegra and the iconic Maraya building.
AlUla Desert Blaze features four challenges: 5 km, 10 km, Half Marathon (21.1 km), and Full Marathon (42.2 km) courses.
Beginners and casual runners can experience the thrill of the desert in the accessible 5 km dash, while the 10 km course steps up the intensity to test the pacing and endurance of mid-range athletes.
For seasoned competitors, the grueling 21.1 km half marathon weaves directly through AlUla’s iconic mountain landscapes, balancing sweeping views of ancient formations with a severe physical test.
Finally, the flagship 42.2 km full marathon stands as the ultimate test of human endurance, pushing elite runners to their absolute physical and mental limits across AlUla’s rugged, searing terrain.

The event kicks off on August 15, with a mandatory official race briefing and welcome session, providing participants with a vital deep dive into the courses, rules, and safety measures. This opening day also treats runners to complimentary bites, refreshments, and the collection of their official race kits.
The excitement culminates on August 16, as Race Day officially arrives. Competitors of all levels will head out across AlUla’s dramatic landscape, defying the relentless desert heat to claim a deeply rewarding sense of achievement at the finish line.
