SEHA Virtual Hospital Revolutionizes Saudi Arabia’s Healthcare Services
Under the transformative Saudi Vision 2030, the Health Sector Transformation Program has launched several initiatives and programs to advance digital transformation in healthcare and improve the quality of services provided. SEHA Virtual Hospital is a pioneering example in that regard.
As the largest virtual hospital in the world and the first of its kind in the Middle East, SEHA Virtual Hospital provides remote medical services to 170 hospitals around Saudi Arabia, utilizing cutting-edge technologies.
With more than 150 male and female doctors, the virtual hospital also provides 29 basic specialized health services and more than 73 sub-specialty services. It has the capacity to treat over 480,000 patients a year.
Moreover, SEHA Virtual Hospital offers remote patient monitoring around the clock through the Internet of Things (IoT) devices, providing healthcare services to all patients across the Kingdom, including rare and complex medical cases.
The virtual hospital allows both citizens and residents to receive high-quality medical care and timely access to services without having to travel for long distances and wait in long lines.
Owing to its unparalleled services and excellence in delivering remote healthcare, the Guinness World Records recognized SEHA Virtual Hospital as the largest virtual healthcare provider in the world.
This accomplishment, awarded during the Global Health Exhibition held in Riyadh in October 2024, is a strong testament to Saudi Arabia’s commitment to improving virtual healthcare quality and promoting telemedicine technologies. It also aligns with the Kingdom’s efforts to drive digital transformation in the health sector.
In another achievement, the virtual hospital received the “Excellence in Virtual Healthcare Solutions Award” at the PX Initiative Awards 2025, along with the Saudi Ministry of Health’s Innovation Empowerment Center.
