The King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture (Ithra) has announced the launch of the 8th edition of its major design event, Tanween, from November 17 to 22, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
Ithra has also revealed the Tanween Challenges open call, set to run until October 26.
Hence, the center has invited designers worldwide to register and take part in one of the 6-day design sprints:
- The Global Impact Challenge
- Urban Spaces Challenge
- Product Design Challenge
- Visual Communication Challenge

Themed “Design the Unspoken,” the 8th edition urges designers to anticipate hidden needs and introduce bold, forward-looking designs. Interestingly, the flagship program aims to spotlight creativity’s potential to unearth the hidden beauty and redefine how design engages with communities.
The six-day program will offer professionals, students, and design enthusiasts hands-on learning experiences.
Furthermore, the event will boast multiple showcases, such as the Grad Show and an international exhibition, as well as the Tanween Majlis _ a series of panel discussions with international experts.

By hosting curated workshops, a full day with experts, and a design market featuring regional and international brands, the program stands as a testament to Ithra’s dedication to fostering Saudi Arabia’s cultural scene.
