The Northern Borders Chamber of Commerce has launched a three-day handicrafts training workshop for female artisans, aligning with the Kingdom’s designation of 2025 as the Year of Handicrafts.
The program introduces participants to the essentials of handweaving—covering everything from wool preparation to tool usage and the creation of artistic pieces. It also encourages blending traditional techniques with modern materials such as fabric, leather, and wood to better meet today’s market needs.

Renowned for its rich heritage in traditional crafts like sadu weaving, spinning, and tent-making, the Northern Borders Region provides an ideal setting to grow this sector—especially as more women embrace handicrafts as a path to economic empowerment.
