Riyadh Metro to Operate from 5:30 AM Daily to Serve Early-Morning Commuters

Riyadh’s Public Transport Authority unveiled that the city’s metro will now begin operating at 5:30 a.m. each day, a schedule adjustment designed to better accommodate students, workers, and early-morning travelers, according to Gulf News.

The move comes in response to growing passenger demand and is an integral part of the capital’s broader efforts to reduce dependence on private cars, ease traffic congestion, as well as boost the efficiency of daily mobility across Riyadh.

Since opening in December, Riyadh Metro has quickly established itself as a cornerstone of Riyadh’s transport network, carrying more than 100 million passengers, according to the Royal Commission for Riyadh City.

The project represents a significant milestone in the Kingdom’s public transportation system, unleashing new horizons of innovation, comfort, as well as sustainability.

In the light of this, the Riyadh Metro supports Saudi Arabia’s pursuit to build an advanced urban future basting both connectivity and innovation.

Notably, the designs perfectly align with sustainability standards with a special focus on the proper use of environmentally friendly materials. Thus, it stands as a testament to the project’s vision towards developing the urban environment.

Passengers can identify destinations and purchase tickets through the “Darb” mobile application and ticket offices along with self-service machines at the stations.
