Jeddah is currently hosting the second season of the Arabic Calligraphy Arts Forum, bringing together Arab and international calligraphers and visual artists, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
Set to run until August 28, the forum aims to shed light on the beauty and diversity of this timeless art, empower artists, and support the culture of Arabic calligraphy.
Forum coordinator Saud Khan said that the Arabic Calligraphy Arts Forum features more than 138 artistic works and over 105 calligraphers and art pioneers from various countries around the world.

Furthermore, it witnesses the participation of an elite group of calligraphers from Saudi Arabia.
Khan also noted that hosting the “Azf Al-Huroof Forum for Arabic Calligraphy Arts” represents an artistic and cultural responsibility that seeks basically to present calligraphers’ works in a professional and fair environment.
“The forum celebrates the aesthetics of Arabic calligraphy while avoiding flattery,” he added.
He added that this year’s edition introduced a meticulous selection process overseen by a committee of senior calligraphers to ensure the quality of works. Therefore, the forum plays a pivotal role in strengthening the value of the Arabic letter and safeguarding its artistic standards.

In order to highlight creative talents, the forum boasts live art performances and specialized workshops.
In line with Saudi Vision 2030, the event is a major part of an outstanding national project aiming at promoting the visual arts and enhancing the Kingdom’s cultural identity.
