Armenia Opens Doors to Saudi Travelers with Visa-Free Entry

Armenia will grant the citizens of Saudi Arabia a visa-free entry, starting from July 1, 2025.

In a major announcement, Armenia said it had removed the visa requirement for the nationals of three Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, including Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Oman.

This new policy will allow the citizens of these three GCC countries to stay in Armenia for up to 180 days within a year period without the need for an entry visa.

Furthermore, Armenia has expanded visa-free entry to include individuals holding valid residency permits from the US, the European Union (EU) countries, Schengen Area states, and all the GCC countries.

These individuals will be able to stay in Armenia for up to 180 days within a 12-month period without needing a visa.

Armenia had also exempted the nationals of the UAE from the visa requirement last year.

The new policy aligns with Armenia’s broader efforts to bolster ties with the GCC countries and promote tourism and investment by making travel easier and more accessible to the citizens of these nations.

On this occasion, the Armenian Foreign Minister, Ararat Mirzoyan, said: “It is clear that through this change we will facilitate visits to our country and communication with our compatriots, and we will also increase investment attractiveness.”

Similarly, the Armenian Economy Minister, Kevork Baboyan, expected a boost in tourist arrivals under the new policy. “We expect the Middle East to become one of the main and leading markets. In recent years, tourist flows have been increasing, and the entry of potential investors has also become easier,” he said.
