Jubail Industrial City is home to an extensive network of beaches, parks, and recreational spaces spread across its neighborhoods, many of which have been transformed into open community areas that host family activities and educational events.
Moreover, these venues offer integrated experiences that include playgrounds and environmental initiatives, strengthening children’s connection with nature and the community, with nearly 500 playgrounds across the city dedicated to children.
The Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu seeks to improve children’s quality of life by embracing the concept of “Learning Cities” and turning its goals into practical daily programs and initiatives that bring together education, recreation, culture, and sports.
Omar Al-Hamad, head of the social activities department at the commission’s social services administration, told the Saudi Press Agency that the commission has adopted a strategy that goes beyond the traditional school setting by creating an integrated environment in which learning becomes part of children’s daily lives in Jubail Industrial City. He said this is achieved through clubs, libraries, creative workshops, community events, and seasonal activities that develop children’s skills and encourage innovation and discovery, while ensuring that families remain essential partners in shaping children’s character.
He added that the commission is committed to ensuring comprehensive and inclusive child well-being by designing facilities and programs that take individual differences into account and meet the needs of children with disabilities, reinforcing the values of social inclusion, fairness, and equal opportunity.
