The Northern Borders region celebrates Ramadan bonfire, one of the most distinctive traditions in the during the fasting month, according to Arab News.

The region witnesses multiple gatherings that play a crucial role in boosting family and neighborly bonds during Ramadan.

These gatherings provide residents with valuable opportunities to exchange stories and experiences about the past, present and future, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

In an interview with SPA, local inhabitant Marawi Al-Sudairi noted that the fire is a symbol of generosity and togetherness, and an integral part of the Northern Borders’ culture.

Another local, Karim Al-Dhaidi, stated that Ramadan gatherings are open to everyone, and contribute to strengthening social ties. He also added that they connect people with their past.

In this context, Jazaa Marji, board chairman of the Retirees Association in the Northern Borders region, said that the Ramadan fire has always been a part of the local heritage. “We grew up with it, and it brings generations together, offering an opportunity to recall memories and share experiences with the youth,” he added.

Ramadan is the perfect time to bring such traditions into life, explaining that they crystalize the spirit of love, communication, as well as the reinforcement of social values between generations.” Marji said.

Today, the Ramadan fire remains an outstanding tradition at various homes in the Northern Borders region as residents revive it during Ramadan nights.
