The King Salman Global Academy for the Arabic Language will launch the “Arabic Language Month Program in the Republic of France” from October 7 to November 2. This scientific program consists of a series of educational initiatives and scientific activities conducted in collaboration with various educational institutions. The program aims to develop Arabic language curricula, improve the performance of its teachers, promote its presence, build a positive image of the language, and highlight the efforts made by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in this field, in line with the objectives of the Human Capability Development Program, one of the key programs for achieving the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
The Secretary-General of the King Salman Global Academy for the Arabic Language, Dr. Abdullah bin Saleh Al-Washmi, pointed out that the academy is active in several areas to promote the Arabic language both locally and globally. Among these efforts is the “Arabic Language Month” program in France, through which the academy aims to showcase its activities related to teaching Arabic to non-native speakers, highlight the Kingdom’s efforts in serving the Arabic language and its sciences around the world, and offer a range of training programs to enhance teaching competencies and improve the learning outcomes of Arabic language students.
The program includes a series of visits to French universities that offer academic programs in Arabic, as well as visits to associations and scientific centers interested in teaching and promoting the Arabic language. These visits will be accompanied by meetings with their staff to enrich the Arabic educational experience. The program also includes a visit to the Saudi Embassy in the Republic of France, the organization of a series of scientific seminars, discussion panels, academic visits, and a set of training courses for teachers aimed at developing their linguistic proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. All of these activities will focus on the use of active learning strategies in teaching Arabic as a second language, enhancing its practices, and improving the competencies of Arabic language teachers for non-native speakers.
It is worth noting that the Arabic Language Month program in the Republic of France falls within the initiative of scientific programs on teaching the Arabic language, overseen by the King Salman Global Academy for the Arabic Language. Versions of the program have been implemented in several countries, including the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Republic of Indonesia, the People’s Republic of China, and the Republic of India. The academy continues to offer the program as part of its linguistic and cultural efforts on an international level.
