
Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Culture Prince Badr bin Abdullah has visited the King Fahd Cultural Center to inspect the second phase of the development project in Riyadh, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
Set to open in April 2025, the expansion project includes renovating exhibition halls, theaters, offices and a restaurant, and developing the external area and green spaces.
The minister toured the departments that have been renovated in the first phase which was completed last April.

The first phase launched a major theater with 2,750 seats. The theatre hosted the debut of Zarqa Al-Yamama Opera, Saudi Arabia’s first and the largest Arabic opera worldwide.
King Fahd Cultural Center also hosted the 4th National Cultural Awards on Monday, a prestigious event held under the auspicious of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to honor the most prominent cultural pioneers.

Prince Badr also visited the King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language and reviewed the academy’s initiatives in language planning, computational linguistics, educational and cultural programs.
He also toured the Abjad Center for Teaching Arabic, commended the center’s advanced curricula for non-native speakers, and met students from various countries.
