Kleija Festival 2026 Attracts Visitors to Buraidah City

Kleija Festival 2026 is attracting large crowds to Buraidah city in Saudi Arabia’s Al Qassim Region.

Taking place from January 8-17, the Kleija Festival 2026 is establishing its presence as a major heritage event with a massive turnout and international participation from Morocco, Egypt, and Türkiye, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

The festival offers a rich cultural experience, combining popular heritage with local authenticity. Kleija corners have gained special prominence in the Festival, presenting various methods for preparation and a flavorful culinary experience.

Furthermore, the cultural experience is enhanced with the participation of Morocco, Egypt, and Türkiye in the event’s 17th edition. Each country contributes with a promotional pavilion, showcasing various elements of its folk and culinary heritage, as well as handicrafts.

This international participation boosts cultural exchange and fosters engagement among visitors and participants, underscoring a spirit of diversity and creating an atmosphere of celebration.

The second day of Kleija Festival 2026 featured a lineup of programs and events, such as folk shows and performances, interactive workshops, and family-friendly activities, emphasizing the festival’s status as a comprehensive entertainment and cultural attraction for all age groups.

Kleija is the official traditional dish of Al Qassim Region. It is a sweet cookie blending Saudi Arabia’s traditional flavors and ingredients, such as dates, cardamom, and cinnamon.

The festival’s host, Buraidah, is one of UNESCO’s Creative Cities. The event seeks to showcase traditional Saudi culinary arts while celebrating Kleija.

Additionally, it empowers productive families by providing a platform for their work through live cooking demonstrations, hospitality lounges, food trucks, and dedicated exhibitions for bakeries and local factories.
