King Abdulaziz International Airport (KAIA) has inaugurated the first direct flights between Jeddah and Moscow, operated by Saudi Arabia’s first budget airline flynas.
According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the new route operates three flights weekly, connecting King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah and Vnukovo International Airport in Moscow.
The new route comes in line with flynas’ expansion plan, as well as the national objectives of the Kingdom’s tourism and aviation sectors. It also follows a similar move in August, with flynas became the first Saudi airline to launch direct flights between Riyadh and Moscow.
The initiative involves cooperation with the Saudi Tourism Authority (STA) and the Air Connectivity Program to enhance air connectivity between Saudi Arabia and Russia.
Moreover, the Jeddah-Moscow route marks the third Russia destination for KAIA, following Makhachkala and Mineralnye Vody, launched earlier in December 2025 by Russia’s Azimuth Airlines.

The new route comes in line with Jeddah Airports Company’s plan to increase the number of destinations connected to KAIA in order to provide more travel options and enhance the airport’s contribution to aviation revenues.
Furthermore, it takes advantage of Saudi Arabia’s strategic position as a nexus between East and West.
Recently, KAIA has set new record by welcoming 50 million passengers in 2025, in a new milestone that marks the highest figure ever recorded by a Saudi airport since civil aviation started in the Kingdom.
This achievement underscores KAIA’s vital role in solidifying Saudi Arabia’s position as a global tourist destination and cements the airport’s position as a national gateway linking the Kingdom to the world.
