The Eastern Region Municipality has opened Al-Khobar Terrace, a new waterfront development that positions the city as a growing destination for tourism and entertainment while advancing its broader sustainable urban development goals.
The project brings together more than 20 entertainment components, including fitness areas, sports fields, an outdoor skating plaza, and dedicated walking and cycling paths — creating a cohesive environment for both recreational and athletic activities.
At its heart, Al-Khobar Terrace features an interactive plaza surrounded by green spaces and seating areas overlooking the sea, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

A 400-square-meter musical fountain anchors the site, complemented by photo spots and aesthetic installations designed to give the waterfront a distinct visual character.
The development also introduces several modern amenities, among them electric vehicle charging stations and a telescopic viewing device — a first for the Eastern Region — offering visitors a closer look at the seafront scenery.
Municipality planners designed the project to serve a wide range of visitors and age groups. In light of this, Al-Khobar Terrace is part of a sustained push to cement the city’s reputation as one of the world’s most livable and workable cities, using landmark developments to boost tourism appeal and raise the quality of the urban environment.
