43 Walking Tracks in Al-Baha Region Promote Physical Activity During Ramadan

Public walking paths across Al-Baha Region have seen significant attendance throughout the holy month of Ramadan, as fasting residents gather to walk before Iftar and after Taraweeh prayers. The vibrant spiritual atmosphere, combined with safe and well-equipped surroundings, has made these walkways attractive to people of all ages.

This strong turnout reflects the ongoing efforts of Al-Baha Municipality to implement comprehensive development projects for pedestrian tracks in Al-Baha City, its governorates, and affiliated centers.

In total, 43 walking tracks have been established, spanning more than 53,000 linear meters. Strategically located across key areas, these tracks offer convenient opportunities for exercise close to residential neighborhoods and public facilities.

Enhancements to the walkways include modern lighting systems, seating areas, landscaped planting beds, parking spaces, and public amenities, all designed to ensure visitor comfort, safety, and accessibility for various community groups.

Mayor Dr. Ali bin Mohammad Al-Sawat noted that these walkways have become popular destinations for families, youth, and senior citizens during Ramadan. He emphasized the municipality’s commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and quality, along with intensified maintenance, cleaning, and field inspections to ensure uninterrupted access throughout the holy month.

Walking remains one of the most suitable forms of exercise during Ramadan, helping to boost blood circulation, aid digestion after Iftar, improve mental well-being, and reduce stress.
