The Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission today inaugurated Saudi Arabia’s pavilion at the 2026 Moscow International Book Fair in the Russian capital, Moscow, running from September 2 to 6.
The commission’s CEO, Dr. Abdulatif bin Abdulaziz Al-Wasil, said the Kingdom’s participation reflects the depth of historic cultural ties between Saudi Arabia and the Russian Federation and aims to showcase Saudi literary and intellectual activity to Russian and international audiences. He added that the Saudi pavilion serves as a comprehensive cultural window reflecting the intellectual and creative diversity unfolding in the Kingdom under Vision 2030.
He explained that the commission’s presence seeks to support Saudi creators and publishers and open new avenues for cultural exchange and the publishing industry, noting that the fair is a vital platform for enhancing cultural dialogue and building bridges of intellectual communication among cultural figures at international forums.
Saudi pavilion
The Saudi pavilion brings together a range of government entities and cultural organizations led by the Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission, including the King Fahd National Library, the King Abdulaziz Public Library, the King Abdulaziz Endowment Libraries Complex, the King Abdulaziz Foundation (Darah), the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, the King Fahd Complex for the Printing of the Holy Qur’an, the King Abdulaziz Center for International Communication, the Saudi Cultural Attaché in Turkey, Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University, and the Prince Mohammed bin Salman Center for Arabic Calligraphy, presenting a comprehensive picture of the national cultural landscape.
The commission has prepared an accompanying cultural program featuring a series of panel discussions and poetry evenings with a select group of Saudi writers and intellectuals. The sessions will address issues related to literature, publishing and translation, and highlight Saudi cultural achievements and their impact on the international stage.
This participation comes as part of the Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission’s efforts to strengthen the Kingdom’s cultural presence at major international forums and promote national initiatives supporting books and authors, reinforcing Saudi Arabia’s position as a leading cultural destination and a beacon of intellectual contribution.
