As World Art Day is celebrated on April 15, AlUla has highlighted a unique creative vision that solidifies its standing as an international center for art, culture, and innovation.
According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), a flourishing artistic movement is establishing the historic Saudi oasis as one of the most prominent global stages for contemporary creativity.

This progress is fueled by the unwavering commitment of the Royal Commission for AlUla (RCU) to the arts sector, specifically through tailored programs that support artists and create a vibrant atmosphere for production and the global exchange of ideas.
The AlUla Arts Festival serves as the center of this cultural activity, redefining the artistic landscape each year with a curated mix of modern exhibitions, expansive outdoor installations, as well as live performances. The event also integrates interactive workshops and deep cultural discussions into its schedule.
A standout feature is Desert X AlUla, a cross-border collaboration that turns the desert terrain into an open-air museum, blending contemporary art seamlessly with the natural world.

Parallel to these festivities, Madrasat Addeera functions as the city’s first dedicated arts and design hub. Having evolved from a historic girls’ school into a center for innovation, it focuses on revitalizing traditional craftsmanship with a modern perspective, allowing local artisans to showcase their heritage in new ways.
This cultural drive is also strengthened by international partnerships that bring in global expertise and promote cross-cultural dialogue.
Ultimately, AlUla has emerged as a landmark of creativity, honoring cultural diversity and enhancing Saudi Arabia’s influence within the global arts community.
